Normalization of relations with Russia is the main issue of the national policy of Ukraine, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said at the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
"The barriers to anti-dumping investigations, sanitary restrictions, new technical regulations is a reality, which can’t be replaced by any ideological slogans. In addition, we have sky-high gas prices, oil prices, export duties for domestic enterprises. So, it becomes obvious that the top-priority issue of the national policy is a normalization of relations with the Russian Federation," the head of the government said.
According to him, the recent meeting of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and Russian President Vladimir Putin was dedicated to settlement of bilateral issues.
The Prime Minister noted that this issue is a major position of talks between the two governments.
"As a result of recent negotiations, mutual understanding was reached on that the current situation does not meet the long-term interests of both Ukraine and Russia. There is an arrangement on settling of a number of issues," Azarov said.
