The participating enterprises of the State Concern Ukroboronprom has increased industrial production by 35%, year-on-year, to 9.5 billion UAH, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.
In January-September, the volume of sales of the state concern grew by 29.3% to 10.1 billion UAH. In total sales, the share of exports amounted to 8 billion UAH (79.2%), up 47% year-on-year. In the first nine months of 2013, the consolidated returns of Ukroboronprom participating companies amounted to 0.6 billion UAH.
Experts point out that these positive financial dynamics suggest that State Concern Ukroboronprom's member enterprises have sufficient technical and scientific capacity to rank among the world's leading arms suppliers and be a system-making export sector of the Ukrainian economy.
According to the rating of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Ukraine was ranked 9th among the largest arms exporters in the last five years (2008-2012) with exports amounted to 3.087 billion USD (2% of total world supply).
Experts say the military equipment produced by Ukrainian gunsmiths, meets the best world standards and can compete on the world markets. In Ukraine there is a complete closed loop of the military aircraft industry (only seven countries in the world are capable to design a military plane from scratch). Ukraine’s Motor-Sich is a world leader in the development of military aircraft engines, which unrivaled in terms of price, quality and timing of the production cycle output.
At the same time, Ukraine has the developed most advanced radar equipment, air defense missiles, artillery weapons and active protection tank armor systems in the world. Local experts of the military-industrial complex have managed to create a system of high-precision strikes unparalleled by other countries. Ukrainian gunsmiths designed the modern system of acoustic shot localization which is used to detect positions of enemy snipers and artillery.
