In late September, the State Enterprise Indar completed the hand-over to the Brazilian side of the technical documentation for construction in Brazil of the plant for industrial production of recombinant human insulin. This was reported by Igor Prasolov, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, during the sixth session of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Brazilian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the Information-Analytic Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.
Experts say the technology transfer and pharmaceutical plant construction, including training of Brazilian experts, is one practical example of the Ukrainian-Brazilian cooperation, which goes to a strategic level.
According to experts, Ukraine owns modern and advanced technologies in various branches of engineering, including the aircraft, ship, turbine, motor, and rocket building, which can be extremely interesting for Brazilian companies.
Ukraine is ready to supply a wide range of products of the chemical industry and metallurgy, mining machinery, equipment for new power plants and port infrastructure in Brazil. Domestic enterprises are interested in creating of joint ventures located in Brazil using the Ukrainian technologies, experts stress.
It is obvious that the volume of bilateral trade, which reached 1 billion USD, may be significantly increased in the short term. Experts say the governments of Ukraine and Brazil should pay more attention to diversification of bilateral trade and must support and strengthen dialogue in science, education, health, agriculture and industry.
Experts note that the implementation of the joint Ukrainian-Brazilian insulin project also reflects the growing potential of the domestic pharmaceutical industry, which has increased the volume of exports in recent years.
