At the moment, the adoption of the General Layout of Yalta is being finalized. The document has been reviewed by the city planning council. The procedure for submission of proposals for the project optimization ended on Nov. 6. The working papers have been sent to responsible supervising services for approval. Following the approval, the document will be submitted for review to a session of the City Council in November 2013.

Experts point out that the main emphasis in the development plans of Yalta as a tourist center was made on creation of conditions and opportunities to attract visitors all year round.

The draft General Layout, for example, envisions preservation of existing green space in the city center and arrangement of green spaces in other areas. In particular, it is planned to expand landscape and recreational area from 236 to 272 hectares, as well as to create a public park on over 10 hectares. About 26.9 million UAH is budgeted for maintenance and development of Yalta green spaces.

It is important to note that the city has begun to develop a Program of tourism development in Yalta for 2014-2017. The program will define the vector of tourism development, as well as priority areas of activity for the city, particularly the construction of new tourism and recreation facilities and reconstruction of the existing ones.

The largest and most modern leisure complex in Europe will be established on the basis of the "Yalta" and "Donbass" hotels. The construction of a five star Mriya Hotel and Resort Complex has also begun in Yalta, and the construction of "Bristol" hotel and office complex is now in the final stage.
