Further improvement of the investment climate in Ukraine is associated with the creation of the free trade area with the EU. This was stated by first vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov after the meeting with European Commissioner Janusz Lewandowski during the visit to Brussels.

"Ukraine is moving towards the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU. The necessary laws and government decisions are being taken. Ukraine is already preparing for the implementation of the Agreement. We need the support of the European Union at this crucial moment," Arbuzov said, the press service of the first vice-premier informs.

According to him, Ukraine has managed to bring its positions closer to the EU on many issues. He recalled that the government's reform steps have been evaluated by the World Bank.

"In the latest Doing Business ranking Ukraine moved up 28 positions, occupying 112th position among 190 countries. For three years Ukraine has improved its position by 40 points. We associate the further improvement of the investment climate with the creation of the free trade area with the EU," Arbuzov noted.

The representative of the Government is convinced that the introduction of the European norms and standards and the removal of trade barriers will increase the attractiveness of Ukraine and create a more comfortable environment for business.

In addition, Arbuzov informed the commissioner that the Ukrainian government is currently working on internal stimuli to revive the economy and re-orientate the exports to new markets.
