Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that the main task of the Ukrainian government is return to normal relations with the Russian Federation.
"Settlement of relations with Russia, especially economic and trade ones, which in particular includes the gas issues, is of a top-priority for us. We aim to remove all the contradictions in mutual trade, go back to the good relationship we had when we joined the agreement on free trade area within the CIS," Azarov said in interview with "Inter" TV channel.
The PM added the government will seek the resumption of the volumes of bilateral trade with Russia, which had been in the recent time. Azarov said that in 10 months the trade turnover with Russia decreased by 25%.
"We do not want confrontation, and we will not allow it. As long as our government and our President are in power in Ukraine, no hatred will be between Russia and Ukraine. It is our fundamental belief," Azarov said.
