Ukraine has no plans to purchase large volumes of gas from the Russian company "Gazprom" in the future, vice Prime Minister Yuri Boiko told a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, ForUm correspondent reports.
"In October, utilities were provided with gas, accumulated in our storages, so we do not plan to take large volumes of gas from "Gazprom". These volumes will be negligible. This is quite enough for us. In future, if such a formal approach on the part of our partners is kept, we will proceed from the needs of our utilities," Boiko said.
Vice Prime Minister recalled that Ukrainian gas storage facilities are also used to secure transit to Europe in the peak winter periods, but if a compromise agreement with "Gazprom" is not reached, Ukraine will give priority only for its own needs.
