
The success of the national economy depends on efficient fighting raiding. Today it is a priority of state interest, first vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov started during a regional meeting of the World Economic Forum "Strategic dialogue on the future of Ukraine" held in Kyiv.
"Restoration of the Interagency Commission on combating illegal acquisition and takeover of companies is an important step on the path of reform. Fighting raiders is a matter of national economic success. Improving the business climate is a priority of state interest," he said.
Serhiy Arbuzov notes that most of all industrial facilities (about 50% of complaints) and real estate - about 30% become victims of raiders.
"There are results. For example, it was possible to resolve the recent resonant controversy around shopping centre Globus. In a matter of weeks center was returned to rightful owner. I hope this scheme will be continued," he added.
Talking about plans for the commission, he said that there was a proposal of the EBRD to introduce to the composition of the commission a special representative of business.
