The National Olympic Committee of Ukraine has spent 20 million hryvnia in preparation for the Winter Olympics in Sochi. This was announced by NOC President Serhiy Bubka in the report of its year activities during the XXVIII General Assembly.
"The total budget of the National Olympic Committee program for the Games in Sochi is about 20 million UAH," he said.
Bubka also believes that establishment of monthly grants for the top 20 athletes in winter sports will ensure effective preparation process. "This program is being implemented from November 2012 to February 2014. The amount of its financing is about 2 million hryvnia," Bubka said.
In turn, youth and sports minister Ravil Safiullin informed that before the end of 2013, sportswear and equipment worth a total of 5 million 400 thousand UAH are to be bought for the Olympic athletes.
