President Viktor Yanukovych believes that Ukraine will reach full self-provision with natural gas by 2020.
Such an opinion was expressed during the plenary meeting of the Council of domestic and foreign investors "Investing in the development of the economy and the social sphere within free trade zone with the European Union", the press service of the Head of State reports.
"The implementation of large-scale projects with corporations "Shell" and "Chevron" will allow Ukraine to reach full self-provision with natural gas, and under the optimistic scenario even to export energy resources, by 2020," he said.
According to him, Ukraine works to improve the conditions for implementation of energy projects.
"Today Ukraine successfully cooperates with global companies in field of hydrocarbons production," the President stressed, adding that cooperation not only benefits to the introduction of advanced technology and experience, but also enhances the energy security of the state.
As Yanukovych said, Ukraine increases production of its own energy resources and strengthens its energy independence due to foreign investments.
