"Naftogaz of Ukraine" is going to pay off the debt to the Russian "Gazprom" for the consumed gas in August in the amount of $882 million through debt collection from district heating providers.
This was announced by energy and coal industry minister of Ukraine Eduard Stavytsky.
"Now we are persistently settling payments with district heating providers. At expense of these funds we’ll pay off the debt to our partners ("Gazprom" company - Ed.)," Stavytsky said.
At the same time, responding to a question about whether it is possible to repay the debt to "Gazprom" through issuing debt securities, including government bonds , Stavytsky said: " There are other sources".
