Complete works of Shevchenko will be published in 12 volumes on the occasion of his 200th anniversary, the President stated at the meeting of the Public Humanitarian Council, the press service of the head of state reported.
"I would like to stress some important issues. The first one is the publication of complete works by Shevchenko in 12 volumes, Shevchenko encyclopedia, the implementation of state target program "Shevchenko's House"," the President said.
In his turn, culture minister Leonid Novokhatko informed that 8-12 volumes had been prepared for publication in 2013.
"In the framework of the preparation to the holiday, digitalization of the films about Shevchenko is held including the oldest film of 1926," the minister noted. According to him, theatres are preparing new performances related to Taras Shevchenko.
Novokhatko also considers it necessary to increase awareness of citizens about preparations to the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Great Poet. In his view, it requires financial resources.
