National oil and gas company of Ukraine "Naftogaz" will consider the issue on the 882-million-dollar debt to the Russian giant "Gasprom" by the end of this day, minsiter for energy and coal industry Eduard Stavitski told the press.
"I gave Naftogaz CEO two days to solve this issue. The time runs out today, and Naftogaz CEO will report to me this evening," Stavitsk isaid.
He also said that the matter of payments between "Naftogaz" and "Gaprom" is not unique situation in the world. "I am sure we can manage to settle the issue, and I believe Naftogaz CEO can handle the task," he added.
According to the deputy chairman of "Naftogaz" Vadym Chuprun, the debt of 882 million dollars has appeared due to increased debts of district heating company to "Naftogaz" - up to 17 billion hryvnias.
