The President's Administration claims that after the adoption of the law "On Prosecutor's Office", it will start working on the law "On State Bureau of Investigation", President's aide Andriy Portnov told a briefing, ForUm's correspondent reports.
"Right after the parliament adopts the law on prosecutor's office, we will start developing a draft bill on State Bureau of Investigation, which will take on the functions of prosecutor's regarding investigation of high crimes, involving high-rank officials, prosecutors themselves, judges, law enforcement officials," Portnov said.
He also informed that the draft bill will be first submitted to European institutions for approval. "At the same time we are working on a draft bill on criminal infractions. This draft bill will decriminalize a part of the Criminal Code, hence easing the load on the bodies of internal affairs," the President's aide added.
