The Cabinet of Ministers has approved Ukraine's accession to five international agreements of the Customs Union, the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine has reported, Ukrinform informed.

"Since the protocol decision was approved, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instructed to notify the Eurasian Economic Commission about the possibility of Ukraine's joining the said international agreements," reads the report.

According to the ministry , the government at a meeting on October 30 considered four agreements, in particular, on the use of special protective, antidumping and compensatory measures during the transitional period (dated November 19, 2010), on sanitary, veterinary-sanitary measures and plant quarantine (all three documents dated December 11, 2009), as well as the protocol on the procedure for the provision of the body conducting investigations with the data containing confidential information, for the purpose of the investigations that precede the introduction of special protective, antidumping and compensatory measures in relation to third countries (dated November 19, 2010).

The press service said that the agreement on special protective, antidumping and compensatory measures determines the procedure for the application of the existing national measures to protect the domestic market of the Customs Union. Three more agreements were drafted to ensure sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population of the Customs Union member states and the protection of their customs territory against the spread of infectious and mass non-communicable diseases among the population, or quarantine pests and products that do not meet the phytosanitary quarantine requirements of the Customs Union member states.
