Сurrent actions of Ukraine do not violate the terms of a treaty of friendship with the Russian Federation, director of the FM press service Yevhen Perebyinis told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.

"I can tell you that such statements make no sense, Ukraine does not violate this treaty," he said.

According to him, the treaty was signed in 1997 and declared friendships and partnerships. The current actions of Ukraine, including its active cooperation with the EU, do not violate the treaty provisions, so the statements of Russian presidential advisor Sergei Glazyev are unfounded at all."

Perebyinis stressed that Ukraine had repeatedly declared its intention to continue the constructive and partnership relations with Russia.

The speaker of the Foreign Ministry noted that it is not prudent to take into account the words of each commentator.
