Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov believes that the citizens of Russia and Ukraine should cross the Russian-Ukrainian border using foreign travel passports, he said at the Don State Technical University on Monday.

"I think this is absolutely right. They should use foreign travel passports, not internal passports. Getting a foreign travel passport is not a problem now," the Russian foreign minister said.

Currently, the citizens of both countries can cross the border using only internal passports.

At the same time, he noted that Moscow did not intend to introduce a visa regime with Ukraine.
