Russia is ready to hold consultations with Ukraine after the signing of the EU-Ukraine Association, but does not change its position on this document, Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said at the eighth session of the Russian-Ukrainian subcommittee for international cooperation.

"We always stand for a dialogue, for talking to each other and listening to each other. But in this case, the President of the Russian Federation has already stated our position. If this agreement is signed and Ukraine starts implementing relevant obligations, in particular, regarding liberalization of the trade regime with the EU, then it will create risks to our trade, to our manufacturers, and we will have to introduce the protection measures that are provided in the framework of the CIS agreement on free trade area," Lavrov said.

According to him, such consultations will give an opportunity to take into account the views of all interested countries.
