President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on the occasion of the Day of Ukraine's Liberation from Fascist Invaders, the press service of the President reports.

The Head of State together with veterans of the Great Patriotic War honored memory of the deceased with a moment of silence.

The Guards of Honor solemnly marched and fired volleys on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation.

The Head of State also laid flowers at the monument of Triple Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Kozhedub, Double Hero of Soviet Union Amet-khan Sultan and Hero of Soviet Union Heorhiy Berehovyi on the Alley of Military Glory.

The ceremony was also attended by the Presidents of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk, Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yushchenko, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov,  Head of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Rybak, Kyiv CSA Head Oleksandr Popov and members of the Cabinet of Ministers.
