Ukraine guarantees the proper level of social welfare to its citizens. This year, government has managed to keep the social security and benefits level, and even increase them for some categories of citizens, the Information-Analytical Bulletin of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine informs.

During the first 9 months of 2013, Ukraine has not reduced any benefit or allowance.

"In difficult economic conditions, we, unlike many countries, managed to keep, and even increase them for some categories. No benefit or allowance has been reduced or cut", said Natalia Korolevskaya, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine.

According to experts, in the first three quarters of 2013, the Ministry of Social Policy developed over 200 regulatory documents aimed to support the social initiatives of the government.

The ministry has initiated the increase of increment to living wage for care of disabled child with exceptionally high degree of ill health (Subgroup A) from 50 to 100%; also, they increased the value of social aid for disabled orphans and children deprived of parental by 894 UAH.

Also, since March 1, 2013, the Social Insurance Fund increased monthly insurance payments in case of industrial accidents by 14.9%. Thus, average monthly payments were increased from 1,210 to 1,390 UAH. Also, it was decided to increase the value of pension payments to all disabled veterans (Group II-III) and combatants over 85 years old.

The Ministry of Social Policy developed a number of strategic documents, which lay the basis for more efficient system of social protection in Ukraine. In particular, experts of the Ministry prepared the Action Plan for 2013-2015. Also, they developed a social card and social ratings of Ukrainian regions. The experts note that such approach ensures introduction of the best European practice, and enables to see the prospects for several years ahead.
