The Verkhovna Rada failed to ratify the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of the Republic of Sudan on cooperation in the sphere of exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.
As ForUm correspondent reports, 196 deputies supported this bill while 226 votes are required.
The agreement provides for joint planning and implementation of space programs and educational projects, promotion of scientific, engineering and technical personnel in these projects, exchange of scientists, technical personnel, documentation, data, results of experiments and scientific and technical information.
The document also provides for the development of industrial and commercial applications in the sphere of exploration and use of space systems and launch services, joint research activities, construction, manufacture, launch and operation of launch vehicles, satellites and other space systems, as well as the organization of conferences and other collaborative research events.
