Prime Minister Mykola Azarov demands to improve the economic policy aimed at supporting of the domestic production to compensate for the negative factors, he said, opening the session of the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.

"At the end of the first half of this year the government measures to strengthen the economy seemed to help overcome the recessionary trend. At the end of July, 2013, the index of industrial production rose by 5.1 % compared with June. There was a tendency of the balance of payments surplus. The government did its best to compensate losses in export for demand in the domestic market. But, unfortunately, the losses suffered by our economy failed to keep the growth," Azarov said.

According to him, in January - September of 2013 the index of industrial production amounted to 95% in comparison with the corresponding period in 2012.

"So, today we have to analyze all the factors that influenced the decline in industrial production and to determine measures to minimize and compensate for the negative impact. We need to strengthen the system of economic policy aimed at supporting of the domestic production. It is necessary and possible," he said.
