First vice PM Serhiy Arbuzov discussed cooperation between Ukraine and the EU during a meeting with Algirdas Semeta, European Commissioner for Taxation and Customs Union, Audit and Anti-Fraud.

In particular, the parties focused on economic aspects of cooperation, fight against frauds and smuggling of tobacco products, as well as joint actions in the customs and taxation spheres.

"The meeting was very interesting and fruitful. Our colleagues from the EU respect us, hear and understand our problems and share experience. It was a good meeting, and I hope we will become even closer to each other. We must solve a great number of important issues, and with the help of such friends we will be able to do it faster," Arbuzov declared.

In turn, Semeta noted that the parties agreed on the development of a relevant plan of action regarding the sectors in focus, implementation of which will enable to provide efficient work on fight against tax frauds and evasion.

"Today's meeting with the first vice PM has been very positive and promising. And I am eagerly looking forward to continue our work," Semeta underlined.
