In the coming years Ukraine may receive 50 million euro, head of Operations of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Andrew Rasbash told a briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
He reminded that Ukraine received from the European Union the assistance worth 3.3 billion euro from 1991 to 2013.
Rasbash also noted that this year the amount of European aid to Ukraine amounted to 186 million euro.
"However, I can not say anything concrete about assistance to Ukraine in the next and the next few years, because the EU budget is formed for several years, and now the budget period for 2007-2013 has almost ended. At the moment, the budget for the next period is being formed and, accordingly, there are talks about the amount of aid to Ukraine," he said.
He explained that the amount of aid to Ukraine will largely depend on a development strategy of the Ukrainian government. "If the government shows us that it has impact on the basic indicators of this strategy, then in the next few years Ukraine can count on support from the EU in amount of not less than 50 million euro," Rasbash said.
