Consumer rights in CIS countries should be protected better, Onishchenko believes

Creation of an effective model for protection of consumer rights in the CIS countries is a priority task, head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare of Russia (Rospotrebnadzor) Gennady Onishchenko said at the 5th meeting of the Advisory Council on Consumer Protection of the CIS states, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Creation of an effective model of the state formation of consumer protection in the CIS countries involves a creation of a full complex of legal and organizational mechanisms for protection of the rights of citizens," he stressed.

The Rospotrebnadzor head believes that this requires legal integration and information sharing.
