President Viktor Yanukovych emphasized the importance of developing necessary infrastructure in rural areas.
"If we do not invest in rural infrastructure, if we do not build roads and housing for villagers, rural areas will not develop," the Head of State said at the meeting of the Council of Regions in Boryspil, the press service of the head of state reports.
The President addressed the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food with a request to jointly elaborate the program of developing rural infrastructure and building housing for people.
According to Viktor Yanukovych, some regions have examples of successful infrastructural projects. "Unfortunately, such examples are rare and we must have a system," the President noted.
