President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych demands the heads of central and local governments to consider the issue on provision of orphans, who have reached the age of majority, with housing, he said during a session of the Council of Regions in Boryspil, the press service of the head of state reports.
"We all know very well that when these children grow up, they have no place to live and to work. Their lives end. Only state can take care of them. And this program should be implemented today, because this problem exists today, and it will get only worse, so we need to solve it," the President said.
According to the head of state, in the coming years it is necessary to provide nearly 20 thousand orphans with housing.
Yanukovych said that these children can live in dorms while studying, but then the state should take care of providing them with housing.
