Ukrainian deputy Prime Minister Kostiantyn Hryshchenko has welcomed the European Parliament's decision to extend its monitoring mission in Ukraine, he told reporters in the building of the European Parliament in Brussels on Wednesday, Ukrinform reported.

"The work of the mission itself is very positive. It's not intended to promote a certain politician. It's intended to better understand the different circumstances that should be taken in account when resolving any systemic or even particular problem," Hryshchenko said.

He said that Aleksander Kwasniewski and Pat Cox are politicians who have extensive experience and tolerance. "President Kwasniewski is also well aware of Ukrainian realities," the deputy Prime Minister said.
