Ukraine will feel practical advantages of cooperation with the European Union soon after the signing of the free trade area agreement, which is an integral part of the Association agreement, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said during a meeting with media in Tallinn, presidential press office reports.

"In particular, we expect the introduction of profound and integral free trade area, which will enable both Ukrainians and Europeans to feel practical advantages of cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union under new format," he noted.

The President underlined that signing of the Association agreement meets the interests of both parties. "I am convinced that signing of the Agreement meet our common interests regarding further modernization of Ukraine in terms of European values and standards," he said.

Yanukovych also underlined that signing of the Association agreement at the "Eastern partnership" summit is the primary task of Ukraine and that Ukraine intends to implement some of its provisions right after the signing.

In turn, President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves noted that the free trade area agreement with the EU would enable Ukraine to access a huge and stable market with 500 million of consumers. "The agreement comes in time when the EU economy starts recovering, thus the EU is a very important trade partner for Ukraine already now," Ilves said.

"Broad consensus among parties and politicians of Ukraine regarding European integration support your expectations and proves to Europe that Ukrainian choice of future has been well thought out and is the best for the country and its people," he added.
