So far, there are no legal grounds for pardoning ex- Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, justice minister of Ukraine Olena Lukash told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.

According to the minister, as of today, pardon of the former prime minister is beyond the competence of the President and the issue can be considered only under certain conditions.

"In particular, she has not filed a petition for pardon, she has not served half a term, etc. In addition, the inflicted damage is being considered," Lukash said.

She recalled that the relevant commission on pardon issued opinion on its prematurity. "This issue is very serious for the country and can not be solved prematurely and regardless of other factors," the minister said.
