The government makes efforts to solve the problem of shortage of preschool educational facilities, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych said during a meeting with women Heroes of Ukraine, ForUm learned from the press service of the President.

"The problem is not solved yet but we will solve it," the Head of State said. According to the President, in the last two years Ukraine opened or restored more than thousand of kindergartens attended by more than 220 thousand children.

Speaking of the organization of proper preparation of preschoolers, Yanukovych emphasized the necessity of uniting preschool educational facilities and elementary school. "I am confident that there should be a kindergarten near the school. Preschoolers must receive primary education there and in order to prepare for the school. In fact, the facility is in the uniform system," he said.

According to the President, it would also be positive to introduce specialized education in colleges and lyceums. It would facilitate the solution of the problem of receiving profile education. "First, we must see what professions we need. Second, every child must have an opportunity to choose the lyceum he or she wants," Viktor Yanukovych noted.
