European Energy Commissioner Gunther Oettinger is confident that investments of international institutions will "breathe a new life" into the Ukrainian gas transportation system in the coming years.
"Preparations for the involvement of the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank in modernizing the Ukrainian gas transport system are now progressing well. And I hope that in the next few years we will be able to invest millions in this pipeline," the European Commissioner told a press conference in Brussels on Monday.
In this regard, he recalled that he visited Kyiv last Thursday.
"Ukraine is an important partner for us, it is a member of the Energy Community," Oettinger said.
