Having signed the Association Agreement with the European Union, Ukraine will "close its way to the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Community," President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told Russian media at the press conference.

"Low tariff barriers when trading the EU with Ukraine will cause loss if we have open borders," Lukashenko sounded a note of warning. "If you want to join us, you'll have to comply with our agreement," Lukashenko said, referring to the Ukrainian party.

At the same time, he noted that it is not necessary to blame Ukraine for the negotiations with the EU.

"Nazarbayev is in talks with the EU, Russia also holds talks on a free trade area. I tell them that Belarus has never held separate negotiations. Why do we blame Ukraine for holding some talks? Both Russia and Kazakhstan hold negotiations. Let Ukraine does," Lukashenko said, responding to a question about the planned signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

According to Lukashenko, Belarus does not hold negotiations with the European Union, "because no one wants to talk with us."
