Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak has called on the authorities and the opposition to prepare a bill that would allow convicted former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and other prisoners to undergo medical treatment abroad, he said at a round table meeting on European integration in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday.

"The authorities and the opposition should be working, preparing the law. What can the Parliament of Ukraine do, how can we help in this situation, especially with regard to the treatment of prisoners, who cannot be treated here [in Ukraine]?" he asked.

Rybak said that a lot depended on the Parliament in this situation. "And we can address this matter," the speaker said.
