Ukraine has made significant progress towards European integration, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Füle told a roundtable in Kyiv, ForUm correspondent reports.

"I want to point out a very significant progress on some of the EU requirements, but not all of them have been met. I hope that you will make every effort to quickly finish the tasks," Füle said.

According to him, it is very important for Ukraine to primarily improve the electoral legislation. "Since there is no electoral code. You told us that it is impossible to do in the short term, but the commitment to continue moving in this direction is very important. You may to conclude a road map to convince us that the elections will be conducted in accordance with European standards," the Commissioner said.

In addition, according to him, Ukraine needs to adopt legislation on the prosecutor’s office with the relevant recommendations of the Venice Commission.

The third task, according to Füle, is settlement of Tymoshenko’s case. "Cox-Kwasniewski mission report is very important for the EU member states, which will assess the progress made by Ukraine on this issue," he said.
