Ukrainian hospitals have to be certified before the introduction of insurance medicine, as the assessment of quality of their work will help to become competitive in the insurance market, head of the department for quality control of medical services of the Health Ministry of Ukraine Tatyana Donchenko said during a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to her, it is possible to control the quality of local hospitals using certification, accreditation and licensing. "Solution of these issues is aimed at making private or state-owned institutions competitive to create conditions for choice of insurance companies in the future," she said.
However, according to the representative of the Health Ministry, the introduction of compulsory insurance has not been provided by law yet, so doctors have time to improve their work.
