The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine will not require crop rotation in 2014.

"I take crop rotation very careful. We can not require compliance with crop rotation and fertility starting from January 1, 2014, but in 5-7 years we will come to the fertility standards, provided for in our legislation. Today, crop rotation should be in line with market requirements," Prysiazhniuk told journalists before the Cabinet’s meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

In his view, the Agrarian Policy Ministry can not force farmers to grow something that is not in demand. "Food security is the duty of the state, and fertility of soil is the duty of farmers," the minister concluded.
