The Naftogaz of Ukraine should be reformed to solve the problem of gas debt and gas prices, former representative of the President of Ukraine on energy issues Bogdan Sokolovsky told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, Ukraine does not have transparent gas market, and consequently it is not possible to determine the cost-effective gas market price for consumers.
In turn, president of the Kyiv International Energy Club Oleksandr Todiichuk pointed to the need to differentiate production and transportation of gas and not "hang payments, debts and other irrelevant features on Naftogaz".
In his view, reforming of "Naftogaz" will be difficult, as in Ukraine there are those interested in this "black box to continue exist".
