Visa liberalization is one of the main things that can give Ukraine the Association with the European Union, political director of the Foreign Ministry of Hungary Szabolcs Takács told a press conference, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to him, the countries of the Central and the Eastern Europe experienced significant positive aspects of free travel after the rapprochement with the EU. "These changes made us more competitive and gave impetus to the development of society and economy," the expert said.
He reminded about the action plan to simplify the visa regime with Ukraine, which includes two phases. "The first one mainly relates to the legislation and regulations, which should be adopted by the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet. We also followed the same requirements. We believe that Ukraine will give a positive example to governments of other countries of "Eastern Partnership" and a motive and opportunity for similar reforms," the representative of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry said.
