The process of reforming the electoral law lies within the legal field of Ukraine, and the opinion of the European institutions regarding these processes is only guidelines, head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski told journalists, ForUm correspondent reports.

"Recommendations are just recommendations, and Ukraine should solve the issue of the electoral law on its own. It is important to have an open discussion, for example, at the round tables, rather than behind closed doors between the political forces, which already calculate their chances in a particular electoral system," he said.

The European official stressed that "the formation of the electoral law is the sovereign right of Ukraine. "After the changes are passed, the law should remain stable. This is the main thing. The recommendations of foreign are a kind of basis, but they are not the Bible," Tombinski summed up
