Enough energy resources have been prepared for the heating season, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said, opening the Cabinet’s meting, ForUm correspondent reports.
"Enough energy resources have been prepared for the heating season, so I urge the local authorities, of course, to save energy, but not to delay the launch of heating supply".
According to Azarov, despite the promised warm spell from the next Saturday, today's weather does not allow keeping people cold.
"Therefore, since yesterday, Naftogaz has begun to bring pressure in gas supply systems to the work load. More than half of the regions already decided to start the heating season: heat supply began in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky, Chernihiv regions, as well as in Kyiv and Sevastopol. Other regions will make a decision on start of the heating season judging from the particular weather conditions, in the interests of the residents of specific areas," Azarov summed up.
