Protecting the rights and interests of children, first and foremost, orphans and children deprived of parental care, as well as creating proper conditions for their education and development, is a priority in Ukraine's state policy, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said in his greeting on the occasion of the Adoption Day, which was published on the government website on Monday, Ukrinform reports.

"Every child needs parental love, warmth and family comfort in order to make childhood carefree, joyful and happy. The state and society are responsible for the fate of every child in trouble," reads the greeting.

According to Azarov, about two thousand families adopt orphans in Ukraine every year, instilling faith, hope and love in the children's souls and hearts.

He also thanked employees of state agencies, services, institutions, public and charitable organizations for daily laborious and responsible work that helps resolve the problems of orphans and children deprived of parental care.

"Kindness and love are the main thing children need. Let all children have a family in which they can be happy!" the Prime Minister said.
