The currency swap agreement signed between Ukraine and China will enter into force soon, whereby the subjects of foreign economic activity of the two countries will be able to carry out reciprocal accounts in their national currencies without dollar, first vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov told reporters, summing up preliminary results of his visit to China, which runs September 23-27.

"The currency swap agreement is ready, but it has not entered into force yet, as now there is a process of discussions with representatives of the business. Our banks and their customers wish to work in national currencies," Arbuzov said, responding to the question whether cross-currency swaps will be expanded.

Vice Prime Minister said that Ukraine intends to increase the supply of its goods to China to level the trade balance in bilateral trade as today the volume of Chinese imports exceeds the volume of Ukrainian exports to that country.

Among the strategic areas of cooperation Arbuzov called agriculture, development of transport and port infrastructure for boosting Ukrainian exports and improving the country's transit potential, as well as aircraft construction, space industry, science, culture and medicine.
