China is a major importer of food. Ukraine should take advantage of this and increase the exports of its agricultural production to China, professor of international economics at Harvard University Richard Cooper told BTB TV channel.
"Businesses around the world are interested in cooperation with China, because it is a big market that includes 1.3 billion people. So it is an ideal place for the export of Ukrainian goods. In particular, China is a major importer of food that should especially attracts Ukraine," he said.
In addition, according to the expert, Ukraine may also increase the coal exports to China.
Richard Cooper noted that 30 years ago China was a poor country, but today more and more people in the country become richer, and their earnings increase.
"So China thinks about the purchase of different product groups. This makes China extremely attractive to many American, Japanese, Korean and European companies that want to sell products to the Chinese consumers, whose well-being is growing," he concluded.
