Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that a solution to the issue of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has not yet been found, but the solution lies in the legislative field.

"We are currently finding ways of how to approach the most difficult issue in relation to Tymoshenko. I’m grateful to the European Parliament mission of [former European Parliament President Pat] Cox and [former Polish President Aleksander] Kwasniewski, which, along with Ukraine, is looking for a way out of this situation. If it were easy, the question and the answer would be very simple. This issue is very difficult, so we still have time and we will work according to a plan. We have not yet said yes or no," he said during a debate at the 10th Yalta Annual Meeting on Friday, while answering a question from opposition leader Arseniy Yatseniuk about the settlement of the problem of pardoning Tymoshenko, Interfax-Ukraine reported.

"The answer must be given in a plane that would allow us to find a solution in the legal field," Yanukovych said, adding that this issue is complicated by the fact that there are still a number of cases heard in the courts regarding damage caused to Ukraine.
