The OSCE chairperson-in-office, foreign minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara welcomes the agreement to meet on September 23, 2013 in Tiraspol, reached by head of the Moldovan government Yuri Leanca and leader of the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova Yevgeny Shevchuk. This was stated by the Foreign Ministry press service.
The meeting was preceded by long and painstaking work, active mediation efforts of the OSCE chairmanship and other participants in the 5 +2 negotiation process on the Transnistrian conflict settlement, the minister said.
"Ukrainian chairmanship is ready to continue providing comprehensive assistance to the parties in the further development of constructive dialogue, building confidence between Chisinau and Tiraspol," chairperson-in-office said and called on the parties to the active and ongoing work at all levels to address specific issues in the public interest, and reach real progress in the Transnistrian settlement process.
