The Verkhovna Rada ratified the Framework Convention of the Council of Europe on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society.
As ForUm correspondent reports, 375 deputies voted for this draft bill.
"We need this convention, as the Ukrainian cultural heritage needs enhancing of protection and liability. This convention was signed by 21 of 47 countries, and 15 countries have already ratified it, including Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and others. Its adoption will help Ukraine to make changes to the national legislation," culture minister Leonid Novokhatko said.
According to head of the Committee for European Integration Hryhoriy Nemyra, the committee unanimously recommends the Parliament to support this ratification.
