The Ukrainian military men will participate in operations of the NATO and the European Union to counter piracy.
As ForUm correspondent reports, the Parliament supported the ratification of the Agreement "In the form of an exchange of letters" between the NATO and Ukraine on participation of our country in the Operation Ocean Shield.
331 MPs voted for the appropriate decision.
Defense minister Pavlo Lebedev said that from September 24 to January 2, 2014, the Ukrainian troops will participate in the NATO operations "Ocean Shield" to counter piracy, and from January 3 to March 5, they will take part in the EU operation "Atalanta".
According to him, the costs for these activities were incorporated in the budget-2013, and they were taken into account in the request of the Defense Ministry for budget-2014.
