The Foreign Ministry considers Russia's pressure on Ukraine before the Eastern Partnership summit the reason for the European Union’s recent stepping up its support for Ukraine.

Director of the Foreign Ministry European affairs department Vsevolod Chentsov said this during a press conference "Ukrainian national platform".

"Amid intensification of the "Russian factor", we observe a shift in emphasis, and perhaps in a look at the situation with the signing of the Association Agreement on part of the European Union," Chentsov said.

According to him, the Foreign Ministry is sure that Ukraine successfully fulfills all the criteria for the signing of the agreement, and the Ministry intends to make every effort to maintain this momentum. He also drew attention to the unification of political forces in preparation for the signing of the agreement.
