The Interior Ministry should be significantly reformed, President Viktor Yanukovych said in interview with TV channel "Ukraine", ForUm learned from the President’s press service.
He noted that the Interior Ministry structure will undergo division of functions. "For example, one of the functions is investigation. The new Code of Criminal Procedure provides for the establishment of the national investigative body," he said.
Responding to a question about whether the Ukrainian militia is to be renamed into “police”, Yanukovych stressed that the essence is not in the name. "Everyone is well aware that the most important thing is the content and the quality inherent in the work of this agency," he said.
